The San Antonio Spurs have a roster vacancy and they are currently brining a multitude of players that could potentially fulfill a limited role this season.

That includes Tracy McGrady, 33, who worked out for the Spurs this week according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

He is seeking a guaranteed contract and, as of yet, the Spurs are not willing to expend that kind of compensation. Wojnarowski mentioned that the Spurs have yet to decide whether McGrady would be a good addition.

McGrady’s play has declined in recent years with his efficiency reaching career lows last season. He accumulated a 13.6 PER but he was considerably more reliant on his teammates for a source of points; 65.3% of his shots were assisted last season, up from 42.1% two years ago.

McGrady appeared in 52 games with the Atlanta Hawks last season, averaging 5.3 points, three rebounds, 2.1 assists and 43.7% shooting.

Hat-tip to Jeff Garcia of Project Spurs.
