The San Antonio Spurs will be joined by contigents of Oklahoma City Thunder and New Orleans Hornets players, including rookies Anthony Davis and Austin Rivers, according to Casey Grohman of Bayou Buzz.

“A majority of New Orleans Hornets players,     including No. 1 draft pick Anthony Davis and     rookie guard Austin Rivers, are in San     Antonio this week for voluntary workouts with     the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City     Thunder.”

The Thunder have notably been on the precipice of a NBA championship as they have employed much of the same tactics as the Spurs to consistently win games. They have benefited from luck but their organization has continually made sound decisions to supplement their elite core.

New Orleans would like to obtain the same success as their new regime will attempt to build a cohesive roster around Davis. Signing Ryan Anderson to a four-year, $36 million contract was a fiscally aggressive manuever as Anderson will provide elite three-point shooting and rebounding to an increasingly versatile frontcourt.

As for the Spurs, any extra practice time will be beneficial.

Hat-tip to Trevor Zickgraf of Project Spurs.
