Tony Parker’s tenure as vice president of basketball operations for Asvel Villeurbanne may be over soon.
Parker has attempted to create an arena that will sit 15,000 and hold other events but his goal hasn’t came to fruition and the resulting frustration has caused Parker to second guess whether he wants to continue controlling basketball operations (via L’Equipe).
“I want to do my project (new arena) ASVEL but if I cannot, I have to consider other possibilities,” Parker said.
“Maybe I’m a little behind but it’s been three years since I joined and I feel that it does not move. I try to be patient but I’m not patient.”
His statement comes in direct contract to his optimism: As recently as a month ago, Parker was expecting his club to vault into the top eight after they finished 12th out of 16 teams last season.
