Danny Green has been an excellent member of the community and he has devoted a lot of time to advancing basketball as a sport. (Indeed it was Green who talked about retirement and saving money for Fox Business in an attempt to prevent athletes from going broke.) Even despite Green’s new contract, his benevolence hasn’t waned.

Green will participate in Basketball Without Borders Europe (BWB) in Russia (via Spurs.com) which is a three day event scheduled from Sept. 13-16. He will be joined by fellow NBA players Marshon Brooks and Brian Cardinal. Russian national team players Andrei Kirilenko, Alexey Shved and Timofey Mozgov will lead the camp.

“Along with the three NBA players who helped Russia capture the bronze medal in men’s basketball at the     2012 Summer Olympics, additional camp participants will include NBA players MarShon Brooks (Brooklyn     Nets), Danny Green (San Antonio Spurs) and Brian Cardinal, NBA Legend Sarunas Marciulonis, and     former NBA player Alexander Volkov (Atlanta Hawks).”

BWB is aimed to cultivate a positive social environment while providing help in the health and wellness departments. The camp has been running since 2001 with 30 camps taking place in 15 countries, influencing the lives of more than 1,500 campers in the process.
