T.J. Ford contemplating a comeback?

T.J. Ford’s much maligned career — riddled with harrowing injuries and transient periods of success — was officially over after he called it quits this season. The final irreperable blow was laid by Baron Davis, all 212 pounds of him, on a seemingly inconsequential possession.

Ford was fine, thankfully. But for the masses of basketball fans who know his injury history, it was natural to be worried for his future — not only as a player but as a person.

But yesterday he took to Twitter and made his wishes clear: he’s desperately longing for some basketball in his life.

Basketball on my mind. Motivated to hoop after this week in gym with guys.

While Ford is simply expressing himself, he shouldn’t be returning to a basketball court anytime soon. He may enjoy fleeting success but the potential repercussions stand to be much more significant and potentially life-altering.
