Apparently, Erazem Lorbek joining the Spurs isn’t such a done deal after all. Lorbek’s agent remains in “extensive talks with Barcelona and San Antonio” according to the Slovenian website kosarka.si.
When asked about his potential team next season, here was Lorbek’s response. (Disclaimer: The translation isn’t perfect hence the awkward sentence prose.)
“I see and hear that the Spanish media give false information in connection with my future. Like it or not but they all quickly taken up in our print and online portals. Immediately razčistiva, I a member of San Antonio, my current status in the organization, which means that the agent is in a period of intense cleanup, such as the Barco Spurs. It is not ruled out a third scenario, which would wear any other jersey evroligaša. All options are open, but the NBA does not have a starting position of leadership.”
Lorbek also added that he still desires to continue playing in Europe and is currently “plagued by a number of minor injuries.” This is not exactly the words Spurs fans wanted to hear this offseason.
Looks like the Spurs won’t be able to get rid of Matt Bonner for the time being. (For the record, I am not one of those people.)
