Orlando Magic forward Ryan Anderson was named the Most Improved Player for the 2011-12 season.
Anderson improved his averages in points and rebounds this year while maintaining his usual shooting efficiency. Anderson posted a 21.3 PER, according to HoopData, which represents his best mark in his four year career.
Anderson, more than anything, benefited from increased minutes and the space he had to shoot with Dwight Howard commanding a lot of attention.
Even so, Anderson is still deserving of this award although I would have probably went with Danny Green (homer alert) or Nikola Pekovic.
