Specifics have emerged about the contracts signed by the two newest Spurs, Boris Diaw and Patrick Mills per Spurs beat reporter Jeff McDonald.

“Diaw, a 6-foot-8 forward, is signed through the end of the season and will earn the pro-rated league minimum. Mills’ contract is also a minimum deal and has a player option for the 2012-13 season as well. If Mills opts in, the 6-foot guard would be fully guaranteed $885,120 next season.”

Diaw, acquired on Mar. 23, is averaging 18 minutes per game, 3.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and a 41.7 shooting percentage in five games with the Spurs. In limited action, Diaw has shown his impressive passing ability. This unique asset might earn him more minutes over forward Matt Bonner.

Mills earned 6:28 in his first game as a Spur last night. He made a wide-open corner 3-pointer and a couple of midrange jumpers. He scored 7 points on 3-of-5 shooting. Mills isn’t completely lost in the Spurs diverse offensive system because Australia ran some Spurs sets. His addition will signal the end for D-League call up, Justin Dentmon.
