Progress? Talks Resume Today

I mentioned yesterday that the league was meeting with the players union in New York in last minute talks and may or may not have soften their Friday stance on 50/50 split. The meeting wrapped up sometime around 11pm and Commissioner David Stern declined to give comment “by mutual agreement.”

Is this good or bad? There honestly is no telling. Twitter has NBA beat writers feeling positive and negative.

Some slightly more negative than others. . .

In any case it looks as if the majority of the five hours were spent on system related talks rather than the sticky Basketball Related Income (BRI) stuff. Derek Fisher said they weren’t any closer than they were before. Well, “not necessarily“.

On a Spurs-related note, Peter Holt is the labor committee chairman and was in attendance. Looks like the talks will resume around 1pm Spurs time (Central).

Stay tuned here and/or follow me on twitter for more.

This is most definitely developing, yo.
