Now that was a game…

As I was watching the Spurs clobber the Nuggets in the Second Quarter, I was thinking to myself, “Damn! The Spurs are straight killin’ the Nuggs!” Well, not really, because I’m not some Channing Tatum Wannabe, but you get the point.

It’s pretty clear when you look at the graph below when the Spurs took control of the game:

As much fun as it is to see the Spurs win any game, laying the smack down on a quality opponent is so, so sweet.  What I think tickled my fancy more than anything, was that short span of time when both Carmelo and Billups pulled down Tech’s.  It was pretty much right then and there that I realized that the Spurs had the game in the bag.  The announcers kept talking about how the Nuggets were hanging around, but with the calm collectedness the Spurs were exhibiting I felt like they were just trying to keep the viewing audience engaged.  I guess they felt instilling false drama in the game would be better than having people flip over to see Ricky Gervias’s latest acid-tipped comedic barb.
