A Different Mindset This Season

Reading an article over at mysa.com on the San Antonio Spurs new added urgency for the upcoming season, I for one am glad to see that they are heading into this season like gangbusters and are setting out to put themselves in a good position.

Last season the Spurs were 9-6 at the end of November, not a mark that we would like to see.  This season players are stating that this team has a better mind focus.

“In the past, we allowed ourselves the opportunity to start slow and get used to everybody,” said captain Tim Duncan, on the cusp of his 14th season. “As good as the West is, we’re going to have to start well.”

And they did just that lastnight against the Pacers.  Though the defense was not there in the season opener giving up 109, they will settle in and Pop will get them on that mindset yet again.

“We’re coming into it with more of a ‘jump-on-top-of-it’ mindset,” small forward Richard Jefferson said.

Do you like this new jumpstart attitude the Spurs are going for?
