In this years coming draft on June 24, 2010, the San Antonio Spurs will have the 20th pick in the first round.  This happens to be their highest since 1997 when they drafted Tim Duncan with the first overall pick.

During the season and through-out the playoffs we saw what was needed for the team, three point shooting.  What we know about Xavier Henry is that he is a great three point shooter and most mock drafts have him being selected before San Antonio but if he were to fall to them, it would be a guy they would want.

In one season with the Kansas Jayhawks, Henry hit 41% from beyond the arc and most scouts feel that his range will translate nicely to the NBA.

He is 6’7″ and has a great NBA body.  He is also just 19 years old so there is a lot of room to grow, we all saw that when Tony Parker came onto the team and how much he has grown, so we know that Pop and the staff will stick by this kid if they see something good in him.

San Antonio Express-News gave their opinion on Henry:

Not overly athletic or explosive, and yet able to demonstrate a sustained ability to create his own shot, Henry — who has already visited San Antonio for a pre-draft workout — has been tabbed one-dimensional by some draft analysts. A late-season slump, meanwhile, has some wondering if his one collegiate season might be somewhat of a mirage.
