The Monday night victory for the San Antonio Spurs over the New Orleans Hornets was re-ran on Friday night, saving the league thousands of dollars in arena and player fees.  The game, which had been digitally remastered to change the floor to the Spurs home colors also, had an interview between two creepy looking guys that were both named Jeff.

All kidding aside, last night’s game was very similar to the game from Monday.  While the Hornets played hard the whole time and could score in spurts, they never really challenged the Spurs.

Tony Parker scored 20 points to pace the Spurs attack, while Manu Ginobli added 16.  Meanwhile, for the Hornets, Darren Collison (32) and Marcus Thornton (18) combined for 50 points.  Unfortunately for the Hornets, the rest of the team only scored 41.

The win was the 3rd straight for the Spurs as they moved to 4 1/2 games ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies, who are conveniently their next opponent.

The Grizz (32-30) are exceeding expectations by a great margin.  Led by Zach Randolph and Rudy Gay, this team has already exceeded last year’s win total.  Marc Gasol, formerly known as “the Other Gasol Brother,” has been impressive and is making a name for himself as a quality center.  At 7’1″ his size could be a match up problem for the much smaller Spurs front court.

The game can be seen tonight on FSN Southwest and starts at 8 Eastern/7 Central, it can also be heard, as always, on 1200 WOAI-AM.
