Southwest Champions! Spurs Down Hornets

San Antonio, Tx (Fansided) — Well in my eyes he has the sweetest shot in the game and Michael Finley showed it off again lastnight for the Spurs.  Down by three with just seconds left in the game the Spurs drew up what could possibly be the best play that I have seen Pop draw in a long time. Before the play they (fox sports southwest) showed clips of Roger Mason Jr. hitting game winners for us and also Finley’s last second shot against the Kings just nights ago.

Coming out of the timeout, the ball was inbounded to Finley, he then passed it off to Roger Mason and the Hornets were quickly on top of him then Duncan set a back screen for Finley and Michael did the rest.

“Just enough time,” Finley said of releasing his 3-pointer that forced overtime. “Everything lined up for us.”

His three sent the game into overtime and from their the Spurs took advantage of the extra period.

It was a total team effort and this is what we are going to need to do come playoffs. David West still gives us fits everytime we play the Hornets as he torched us for 34. Tony Parker led with 29 for the Spurs. Duncan had a monster game on the boards grabbing 19.

We now are the Southwest Champions and are the third seed in the Western Conference. We now are scheduled to take on the Dallas Mavericks.
