Having underwent a grueling double overtime matinee in Toronto yesterday, in which Danny Green, Tim Duncan and Tony Parker each were extended significantly, the Spurs were looking to capture a win against the lowly Washington Wizards.

Doing so while resting their starting lineup before they embark on three games, two on the road, in the next six days would be a plus.

San Antonio accomplished both objectives in their 118-92 victory, extending the Wizards losing streak to 12 games.

The Spurs have won 28 of the last 32 road games, a mark comparable to the 1995-96/1996-97 Chicago Bulls and 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers.

Part of their success outside the confines of the AT&T Center can be attributed to their depth and execution.

Assisting on 32 of 45 field goals, 13 of which were 3-pointers, is a prime example of the very execution that bolsters the Spurs offense. 12 Spurs contributed to the scoring tally, indicative of the surplus of serviceable role players on the roster.

The bench finished with 67 points. Tiago Splitter headlined the group with 15 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in 23 minutes.

It also didn’t hurt to play a team also coming off a double overtime game of their own.

Washington was sluggish throughout the game, shooting 41.1 percent from the field and assisting on only 14 baskets. Aside from Jordan Crawford, Kevin Seraphin, Martell Webster, Bradley Beal and AJ Price, each of whom scored in double-figures, the Wizards received very little production from their role players.

Next opponent: The Spurs will play their fifth leg of the six-game road trip against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. EST.

A: Tiago Splitter
Splitter easily notched his most impressive performance to date — 15 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in 23 minutes. When he wasn’t finding Tim Duncan cutting to the lane or cleaning up the offensive glass, he was getting to the line often, making seven of eight attempts. His free throw percentage has jumped to a career-high 75 percent.

B: Boris Diaw
Notorious for his apathetic scorers mentality — which isn’t that big of a deal since he is an elite passer — Diaw may be in the process of shedding that moniker. Diaw scored a team-high 16 points, missing one of seven attempts. He didn’t add much else than scoring but you can’t complain when one of the best passers begins to hone his offensive game, putting defenders at a crossroads next time around.

C: Martell Webster
Webster was fantastic compared to his contemporaries, scoring 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Most impressively, he didn’t force the issue despite his team’s offensive ineptitude. Jordan Crawford, who led the team in scoring, doesn’t get the nod because he scored the majority of his points in garbage time.

D: Danny Green
A day after playing 48 minutes in Toronto, Green was used sparingly. In the 17 minutes that he did play, he hoisted three shots, one of which he made. And really not much else.

F: Chris Singleton
Doh. I touted Singleton as the X-Factor for tonight’s game, citing his decent on/off court numbers and balanced game. I was proven wrong as Singleton committed more personal fouls (5) than rebounds (4) in 17 minutes.
