Former San Antonio Spurs power forward Antonio McDyess is reportedly attempting to make an NBA comeback.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports:

McDyess, 38, has been working out in Houston and has instructed his agent, Andy Miller, to gauge league interest in him.

“He would consider coming back and I will be reaching out to select teams,” Miller told Yahoo! Sports on Thursday night.

The 15-year veteran has not appeared in an NBA game since April 29, 2010 when the Memphis Grizzlies eliminated the top seeded Spurs in six games. In two seasons as a reserve with San Antonio, McDyess averaged 5.6 points and 5.7 rebounds in 20 minutes per game.

McDyess, selected with the second pick in the 1995 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers, suffered a series of debilitating injuries early in his career.

To compensate for his decline in athleticism, McDyess carved a niche as an above-average mid-range shooter. Dating back to 2007, when HoopData.com began recording shot location data, McDyess made 45 percent of his attempts from 16-23 feet.

McDyess has appeared on five different NBA teams, including the 2004-05 Detroit Pistons, which lost the deciding seventh game of the Finals to the Spurs.
