The San Antonio Spurs won another Summer League game. Again, they were led by Bryn Forbes on the stat sheet.

Game 3 for the San Antonio Spurs, in the 2017 Vegas Summer League, took place on Tuesday afternoon. They faced the Portland Trail Blazers, with each team looking for their second win in Sin City.

So far, Bryn Forbes has been the star of the Summer League for the Spurs and maybe of all the teams playing. He put up 35 points on Sunday night and looked to make the most of his next outing on Tuesday.

Who walked out of Vegas with a win? Which player stood out among the rest? Let’s game into the Spurs vs. Blazers.

Game Star

The Game Star getting handed to Forbes has become a daily ritual. He earned it again with another terrific performance against the Blazers, putting up 35 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. He did this on 11 of 26 shooting, with 6-made 3-pointers.

The Spurs Summer League has been all about Forbes. He hasn’t slowed down since Utah, and is playing his way into a roster spot for the regular season. At worst, the team will give him more on-court time in Austin, if the roster fills up this offseason.

The playoffs still remain for the Spurs Summer League team. It will be another chance for Forbes to shine and continue making a case to be part of the NBA squad.

Steady Contributions

No other Spur lit up the stat sheet, but they still received solid contributions from other players, en route to defeating the Trail Blazers.

Shayne Whittington kept up his steady Vegas Summer League production. He had 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block.

Olivier Hanlan came out with his best game of the Summer League. He upped his scoring to 16 points on 7 of 9 shooting, and even picked up a 3 steals.

Will either of these players make the Spurs? Maybe not, but it could go toward a G-League spot.
