How many San Antonio Spurs players will put up double digits scoring?

Last year the San Antonio Spurs won 55 games, but they failed to win the Southwest Division, after a regular season finale loss to New Orleans. As a result the Spurs got the sixth seed in the Western Conference, and they lost in the First Round to the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Spurs made more changes than usual as they landed LaMarcus Aldridge and David West in free agency. Cory Joseph, Tiago Splitter, Aron Baynes, and Marco Belinelli are no longer on the team.

Last season, the Spurs had five players, who averaged at least 10 points. Belinelli barely missed the mark, as he averaged 9.2 points.

How many Spurs will average at least 10 points this season?

Locks

LaMarcus Aldridge- Do I really have to explain why? Aldridge is the only player in the NBA to average at least 23 points and 10 rebounds in the past two seasons.

Kawhi Leonard- Leonard led the Spurs as he averaged 16.5 points last season. The Defensive Player of the Year can score with consistency now.

Tim Duncan- Tim Duncan doesn’t score more than 20 points a game, like he did in his prime. He is 39-years-old and is entering his 19th season. This doesn’t mean he won’t score at least 10 points a game, even with reduction in his playing time.

Tony Parker- Tony Parker was inconsistent last season, as his year was plagued with injuries. Parker still managed to average 14.4 points and 4.9 assists.

Nearly a Lock

Danny Green- Danny Green had a career season, which led to a four-year, $40 million contract in the offseason. Green averaged 11.7 points and 4.2 rebounds.

David West- David West will come off the bench for the Spurs. Last season, the 35-year-old averaged 11.7 points and 6.8 rebounds with Indiana. It’s unlikely that he averages more than 25 minutes a game, but he can fill it up when he’s on the floor.

50-50

Patty Mills- Patty Mills is a terrific shooter, who can fill it up. Last season, Mills averaged 6.9 points as he returned from a shoulder injury in the middle of the season. If he gets good minutes off the bench he should score around 10 points a game.

More from Air Alamo

Boris Diaw- Boris Diaw isn’t known as a scorer, but don’t let that fool you. He is a terrific passer, who can defend multiple positions. The 33-year-old averaged 8.7 points and 4.3 rebounds last year.

Manu Ginobili- In Manu Ginobili’s prime he would’ve been a lock, unfortunately that is no longer the case. He is 38-years-old and he won’t be getting the minutes he once did. Nevertheless he averaged 10.5 points last season, which means it’s possible that he averages 10 points.

Prediction: The Spurs will have seven players average at least 10 points.
