When it comes to players in the NBA, many can stay on the team and others can go to another team they feel may fit their setting. Most the time a team has to make that move without the player having any acknowledge due to budget reasons or maybe they feel a player is not a good fit for the organization anymore. Well this comes to play for all teams in the NBA and especially the San Antonio Spurs.

The 2015 NBA Draft is coming and the Spurs need to make the right moves in order to fill the pieces in with their roster. There will be some changes in some of the positions and most players are not safe. We hear talks of Danny Green not being there, Patty Mills being shipped to another team and also players such as Manu Ginobili retiring. The Spurs know what they need to do so everyone will not know what takes place until that time comes.

The 2014-2015 roster was pretty much the same as last year, with maybe a few more people added to the lineup. Since the Spurs were kicked out the first round by the Los Angeles Clippers with almost the same roster, maybe it is time to make changes. It’s been a year since the Spurs won their fifth championship and if the same team couldn’t make it all the way again this year, then maybe it’s that time for some changes.

Many teams can’t stay the same forever, but the Spurs have kept the same roster for some time now. Players get hurt, players get older and players stop performing as they once did two years ago. That is part of the game today and once that is recognize by a team in the league, it is up to the front office to make that right judgement call. Either you’re back with the same team for another season or you are packing your bags to join another team. Even there are times when certain players are comfortable with their team and the next thing you know, they are being shipped to another organization. They may not even realize it until they see it on Twitter or Instagram.

The Spurs have to figure out what they need to do and what players will fit their team for this coming season. Current players, on the other hand, need to figure out if they are going to be staying with the team or if they have a better option elsewhere. Fans would love to have the same team back, but it is up to the organization to see what is needed in order for the Spurs to make it back to the Finals in hopes for number seis.
