Monroe: Manu Ginobili suffers quad contusion

Nov 3, 2012; San Antonio, TX, USA; San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili (20) drives against Utah Jazz guard Randy Foye (8) during the second half at the AT

Manu Ginobili suffered a left quad contusion during the second quarter of tonight’s game against the Boston Celtics according to Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express-News. He will not return.

While defending a screen, Ginobili’s left leg collided with Celtics forward Chris Wilcox. The screen — which was deemed illegal — knocked Ginobili to the ground, where he agonized in pain before he limped off, on his own power, to the bench.

Ginobili had three points and a rebound prior to the injury.
