The San Antonio Spurs have waived forward Tyler Wilkerson today, cutting the roster to 18 players.
Wilkerson played well in the Las Vegas summer league this season, averaging 9.3 points, five rebounds and 75% shooting through four games. It was his success in the Spurs’ system that earned him a training camp invite over forward Eric Dawson. He was signed to the camp roster on Sept. 28.
He did not quite translate that success to the NBA level though, as he averaged two points and 1.5 rebounds in two preseason games.
