Woj: Spurs' Lindsey, Jazz near agreement for GM job (Update)

Update August 6 6:57 pm: The Jazz and Lindsey are working to finalize a deal, according to Wojnarowski. Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News confirms his report.

August 6 2:48 pm: Now that the Utah Jazz have promoted Kevin O’Connor from general manager to top executive, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, there remains a vacancy for the GM position.

Apparently Spurs assistant general manager Dennis Lindsey is a “strong” candidate for the position after Troy Weaver, Utah’s No. 1 target for the job, dropped out of contention to stay with Oklahoma City.

Lindsey has already garnered interest from the Orlando Magic for their general manager vacancy but they opted with the much younger Thunder executive Rob Hennigan. O’Connor will conduct the search himself according to Woj.

Updates to come as they happen.
