Cory Joseph named to Summer League All-Star team

Cory Joseph entered Summer League play with a mission. He wanted to solidify himself as a legitimate prospect rather than a “bust.” Playing well in Vegas isn’t conducive to success at the NBA level but that shouldn’t trivialize the gravity of his opportunity. If Joseph had failed, he would’ve been subject with more negative connotations. At least Spurs fans can take solace with the knowledge that he has developed to the point where he can outplay players of lesser talent.

With averages of 17 points, 5.2 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 47.8% shooting, Joseph was named to the Summer League All-Star team (H/T Justin Verrier). CoJo is joined by 2012 first-round picks Bradley Beal, John Henson, Jeremy Lamb and Damian Lillard.

Lillard and Josh Selby were named co-MVP’s for their play in Vegas.
