Nando De Colo was released from his Spanish team Valencia Basket according to Paul Garcia of Project Spurs.
De Colo’s release essentially signifies his signing with the Spurs as he’s already visited San Antonio for a physical. If the talks with San Antonio fall apart, though, De Colo still maintains the option to return to Valencia.
Expect De Colo to flash occasional bursts of athleticism and be more polished offensively than defensively. It appears that De Colo is prone to defensive ineptitude because of poor foot speed and inattentiveness. The quality of defense he’ll play will likely never reach adequate levels, given the athleticism of the NBA game, but De Colo needs to get to the point where he isn’t a complete liability.
What do you think Spurs fans? What role should De Colo play with San Antonio?
