Video: Tim Duncan passes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 477th rejection

San Antonio Spurs power forward Tim Duncan passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the former No. 1 overall playoff swatter, on the NBA’s all-time playoff block list after he swatted his 477th shot late in the second quarter. It was Duncan’s fourth block of the game.

Serge Ibaka was the lucky beneficiary of a piece of basketball history.

Other than his interior defense, though, Duncan struggled for the majority of the night. Duncan didn’t have a good shooting night — converting on 5-of-15 shots — nor did he rebound with his usual frequency. San Antonio was outscored by 16 points in Duncan’s 26:01 minutes of action.

Still, it’s a pretty awesome record and he deserves every accolade.
