AUTHOR: bdiddy | IN: Spurs | COMMENTS: 4 Comments |

Things are starting to get interesting in these polls, and a pretty good set of results are emerging. In this category we get finally get to the first of the Spurs’ superstars and encounter the perpetrator of probably the greatest moment in Spurs history who happens to also love tacos. I’ve also found some players from years past that appear to have been pretty good ballers, but many of you may never of heard of.

Click through to get to the poll.

1. You can vote for more than one player at a time

Lots of “other” votes coming in for Larry Kenon. You’ll all get a chance to vote for him outright when the power forward poll goes up.
Both wikipedia and basketball reference have him listed as simply “forward”, but he was listed as a “F/C” when he played for Memphis and often played alongside Gervin as a Spur so I figured that would be the best place for him.

  2. B.D. says:

Gervin was more of a shooting guard.

  3. bdiddy says:

Basketballreference.com lists him as a “guard-forward”, so I used some discretion to slot him as a SF

I would haved thought Mike Mitchell would have a little higher percentage, but he is up against three Spurs “Rafters” (no doubt Bowen’s jersey number is going up soon). Elliott’s collegiate record is a gaudy prelude to his pro career, and if you get 5 basketball fans age 35+ together to discuss the sport, at least one will tell you as a youth he had #44’s poster hanging on his bedroom wall/door. And all three have compelling personal stories as well.
