48 Minutes of Hell is reporting that New Hampshire’s Union Leader.com is reporting that the San Antonio Spurs have come to terms to resign Matt Bonner.

The Concord native agreed to terms with the Spurs on a four-year contract extension through the 2013-2014 season.

The sides struck an unofficial deal on the final day of Bonner’s basketball camp at SportsZone in Derry.

“I’m just very excited. I’m really happy things worked out, and I can go back to San Antonio. I’m really looking forward to the future,” Bonner said.

The new contract is expected to exceed Bonner’s annual salary of $3.2 million he earned last season.

Bonner went on to tell the site:

“In the end, if San Antonio was going to make a fair deal and give me a long-term contract, that’s what I was looking for at this point in my career,” Bonner said. “To not have to uproot my family and my living situation and go back where I’m established and where my daughter was born, it’s a great feeling.

“That’s the kind of long-term stability I was looking for at this point in my career. I get to exhale and start getting ready for next year.

I think the signing makes some sense even though I opined against it in great detail, however, I do think it comes at the expense of one or more of the youngsters if the Luxury Tax line is to be avoided.

Well here we go. F-C Matt Bonner {Spurs 2010-11 Roster Spot 1}. He begins his 5th straight season in San Antonio, trailing only the Big Three in that category. He should feel and claim some 'ownership' in how this roster evolves. What on-court numbers, presence, and intangibles we need from Bonner for this team to improve?
