Wherever Wayman Tisdale went, whatever he was doing, chances were he was smiling.
Tisdale was a three-time All-American at Oklahoma in the mid-1980s before playing a dozen years in the NBA and later becoming an accomplished jazz musician.
But those who knew Tisdale, who died Friday at a hospital in his hometown of Tulsa, Okla., recalled not only his professional gifts but a perpetually sunny outlook, even in the face of a two-year battle with cancer that took his life at 44.

Sitting here in San Antonio still realing from the Spurs being knocked out by the Mavericks, 4 games to 1, I keep thinking that the Mavericks are just two losses away from being in the smae spot and that makes me feel better.

DALLAS — FBI agents have arrested a woman on a probation violation and a theft charge at the home of Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki.
Dallas police said 37-year-old Cristal Taylor was taken into custody Wednesday morning at Nowitzki’s home. Kim Leach, a spokeswoman for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, said Taylor has eight aliases.
It’s not clear what the relationship is between Taylor and Nowitzki, but the Mavericks said that their star will address the matter at Thursday’s media session. Dallas trails Denver in its Western Conference semifinal series 2-0.

Joining Timmy are guards Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat and Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics, and forwards Shane Battier and Ron Artest of the Houston Rockets.
Duncan has been selected to the NBA All-Defensive team 12 consecutive seasons.

MIAMI (AP)—Pat Riley’s plan to make the Miami Heat better in 2010 might start with signing Dwyane Wade(notes) in 2009.
The Heat president said Wednesday that the team has already broached the topic of getting Wade to extend his contract this summer, instead of waiting for the potentially blockbuster-filled offseason of 2010.

CHICAGO (AP) – A 30-year-old man has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for robbing NBA star Antoine Walker at gunpoint at his Chicago home.

Antoine Larkins pleaded guilty Tuesday to home invasion charges. He and three others were initially charged with armed robbery, aggravated kidnapping and home invasion.
Authorities said Walker was pulling into his garage on July 9, 2007, when several armed men ambushed him, forced him and an assistant inside his home and took a car, cash and jewelry.
One suspect, 24-year-old Gregory Reedfields, has been sentenced to four years in prison.

The Denver Nuggets have taken a 2-0 lead over the Dallas Mavericks. Carmelo Anthony and Nene scored a team high 25 each. This is what I love. The team that knocked off my beloved San Antonio Spurs is getting their asses handed to them by the Denver Nuggets.
Nuggets are looking pretty damn good. They are the dark horses in my eyes. Most feel that it will be a Lakers-Cavaliers show down in the finals, though that could possibly happen, the Houston Rockets stunned the Lakers in game one in their series.
